Gov. Cooper Issues New Executive Orders

Governor Cooper has issued two additional executive orders this week to address COVID-19 related issues. Executive Order 122, issued March 30, 2020, eases regulations on the disposition of state surplus property to help schools and local governments access state surplus property to help bridge gaps during the response to COVID-19. The Order also provides for the transfer or donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) that state government may have and not need. Executive Order 124, was issued earlier today, March 31, 2020, and prohibits utilities from terminating service, assessing late fees, and reconnection fees and encourages telecommunications providers, banks, and mortgage services to provide assistance and flexibility to their customers for the next sixty (60) days.
